About us
How we started
Thirsty Café came into being when a group of local volunteers came together with the vision of opening an independent community coffee shop in Marcham. The purpose of the café is:
- to provide an informal, welcoming and safe environment for the local community to meet
- to serve good quality, affordable coffee, tea and refreshments
- to facilitate and develop opportunities for community groups to meet
- offer a rewarding and constructive volunteer programme
- run an economically viable project with any profit reinvested back into our community
In March 2020 we officially registered with the Financial Conduct Authority as a Community Benefits Society with the legal name Marcham Community Café Limited.
While the Covid-19 pandemic delayed our plans to open in a permanent building, we continue to work towards opening in a building when it is safe to do so. In the meantime we have launched an afternoon tea delivery service. Click here to find out more and order some delicious homemade goodies delivered to your doorstep.
